I recently met with Professor Cramp of University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and the British Liver Trust where I learnt more about liver disease diagnosis as well as liver transplant services in the South West.
Unfortunately residents in the South West face a geographical disadvantage when it comes to liver transplant services. To combat this, University Hospitals Plymouth has put together a proposal to establish a new liver transplant centre, which could provide a lifesaving service for many patients.
I have written to fellow Devon and Cornwall MPs to ask them to join me in supporting this proposal, which would improve outcomes for our residents.
