Pubs are at the heart of our communities, yet many are facing financial hardship and uncertainty due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They make a great economic contribution but are among the businesses who have suffered the most over the past year.
With 75 other Conservative MPs, Anthony has signed a letter to the Chancellor asking for a cut in the duty for draught beer. This lower beer duty on draught sales in pubs, clubs and bars compared to sales in supermarkets would offer a huge boost to the industry and allow them to rebuild after the pandemic.
Anthony says "Since the start of the pandemic, I have been fighting hard for the Tourism and Hospitality Industry, leading the campaign for the cut in VAT which has been extended until March 2022. I will continue to work with these sectors to ensure that they come back stronger than ever."
