Wednesday, 5 February, 2020
My visit to Salcombe Brewery

Wednesday 5th February saw Anthony, speak up for the 111 pubs across the constituency of Totnes and South Devon that together employ 1429 people.

The Beer and Pub Taxation Westminster Hall debate saw MPs from all sides of the house to come together to call on the Government to reduce beer and pub duty.

During his short, but punchy speech, Anthony applauded the Government's decision to reduce business rates for pubs across this country. Stating that it was the right step and demonstrating the Government's support for small businesses.

In his speech Anthony emphasised the important role that pubs play in both rural and urban communities. From their positive impact on the local economy to the vital services they offer within communities. Ensuring a vibrant future for our pubs, brewers and beers is essential.

Anthony's speech also highlighted the engagement of three local pubs within their local communities; The Avon Inn, the New Inn and the Queens Arms.
