Following the introduction of a new national lockdown, the Chancellor has announced further financial support for businesses which must close until at least mid-February.
Businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure industries will be able to apply for a one-off grant of up to £9,000 based on their rateable value. Any business which is legally required to close and which cannot operate effectively remotely is eligible for the grant.
This is in addition to a £594 million discretionary fund to support impacted businesses not eligible for these grants, £1.1 billion discretionary grant funding for Local Authorities, Local Restriction Support Grants worth up to £3,000 per month, business rates relief for affected industries, government backed loans and the extension of the furlough scheme until April.
Funding applications should be made to the Local Authority, either South Hams District Council or Torbay Council.
