Kingsbridge & Saltstone Caring is appealing for people to join their team of volunteers offering a free befriending service to the lonely and the isolated in the local area.
Caring groups across Totnes and South Devon rely on volunteers to provide help and support to those in need, so if you are able to offer any assistance then please do get in touch. Below are the volunteer-led caring groups operating in our local communities.
Brixham Does Care: A befriending charity which attempts to combat loneliness, isolation and despair by offering support to people of all ages and client groups in the Brixham area. Services include befriending, outings and activities at The Friends Centre, .
Dartmouth Caring: A charity operating in Dartmouth and the surrounding parishes which helps and supports the vulnerable, disabled and older people in the local community. Services include home help, daily hot lunch deliveries, shopping and prescription collection.
Kingsbridge & Saltstone Caring: A charity whose aim is to promote the independence, physical and mental well-being of older, isolated or vulnerable people living in Kingsbridge, Salcombe and the surrounding area. Services include befriending, shopping, carer relief and local outings.
South Brent & District Caring: A charity helping those living in South Brent and the surrounding communities of Avonwick, North Huish, Diptford and Rattery.Services include befriending, shopping, prescription collection and transport as well as coffee mornings and lunch clubs.
Totnes Caring: A charity which aims to help and support the vulnerable, disabled and older people in Totnes and the surrounding parishes. Services include shopping, prescription collection, transport, home help and lunch deliveries.
