Earlier this week, Moor Trees was awarded a grant which will allow the organisation to continue and expand its work on woodland planting and restoration. Keeping his promise to continue to speak up on this issue, Anthony took part in a Westminster Hall debate earlier today on the National Tree Strategy.
Speaking on the issue, he says "We must ensure that we cultivate the green spaces in both rural and urban areas, that we plant more trees and that we encourage biodiversity. During the debate I put forward a number of suggestions including encouraging regenerative agriculture, creating an incentivisation programme for landowners, using common land for tree planting and creating a volunteer programme.
I look forward to seeing the changes to the Environment Bill when it comes back before the House, and hope to work with the Minister to ensure we are able to plant more trees and give future generations more green spaces."
