Every day I receive dozens of campaign emails from constituents concerned about a huge variety of national issues. They are often identical emails which are sent from campaign organisations. I appreciate these issues are of importance to constituents; they are also important to me as they make me aware of an issue and the strength of feeling on a subject.
However, it is important for me to prioritise casework and manage my taxpayer-funded staffing costs more effectively, I have therefore made it my policy not to respond individually to email or postcard campaigns. Instead, I will post my responses on this section of my website.
You can press 'CTRL' and 'F' on your keyboard to search for a key phrase or word. If my response to your campaign is not currently published, please do check back at a later date.
I shall, of course, continue to respond to individual constituency casework enquiries via email and letter.
Furthermore, I do not sign EDMs. I am afraid that they have little impact on the parliamentary outcome, and they cost a significant amount of taxpayers’ money to orchestrate.
