Earlier today, Anthony took part in a Westminster Hall debate on short term holiday lets and the planning system.
He started by highlighting the changes that have already been made over the last three years in this area, from closing the business rates loophole to allowing councils to charge 200% council tax on second homes.
Tourism is extremely important to the economy of Devon and Cornwall, but there is currently an imbalance between the number of second homes and Airbnbs, and the number of properties that are available for long term rental.
Anthony called for legislation that encourages landlords to let their property on a long term basis, while supporting the rights of tenants and of landlords.
