Last night I hosted the third open meeting with South West Water and residents of Kingsbridge and the surrounding area.
Topics included water quality, infrastructure, investments, dividends and of course storm overflows.
Once again, this was an interesting discussions where residents shared their views and SWW answered questions on their work and progress. While progress has been made, with SWW’s Environmental Performance rating recently going from 1 star to 2 stars, there is clearly still a long way to go.
One important aspect is local development and the impact this has on the water and sewer network. I am pushing for water companies to become statutory consultees in the planning process, and will continue my campaign in Westminster after the parliamentary recess.
Thank you to all those who attended the meeting and shared their views. A final open meeting will be held in Dartmouth this autumn - stay tuned for more information.
