This week I joined farmers to discuss local and national issues ranging from the Dartmoor Review to the Sustainable Farming Incentive to mental health within the agricultural community.
Farming is not only an important local and national issue, but one of particular interest to me. Ensuring that our farmers get a fair price from supermarkets and that they can easily access public supply chains has long been part of my work in Westminster.
With the rise of ultra processed food, it has never been more important to support our farmers and ensure we buy local and British, and back those who do so much to shape and make our countryside what it is!
This week is also the Farm Safety Foundation - Yellow Wellies 'Mind Your Head' week, an opportunity to promote positive mental health within the farming community and encourage farmers to seek help when they need it, to talk and be open.
