Today I held a debate in Westminster Hall on the future of the A379 Slapton Line Road.
Over the last four years, I have been working with key stakeholders to shore up defences along the road and ensure that it stands against time and tide for at least the next two decades.
Today I raised the importance of our recently updated Slapton Line Partnership Document and the need to complete the necessary studies and assessments to introduce new defences that will weather future storms.
We have made real progress over the last few years by working together, with the local community’s needs at the forefront of our objectives.
As detailed, this year will see Devon County Council complete a number of surveys and develop the plans we need to protect this vital route.
