The rules in England have changed for close contacts of those who have tested positive for Covid-19.
As of today, close contacts who are fully vaccinated (having received their second dose at least 14 days before contact) and under 18s will not have to self-isolate. Instead, they are advised to get a free PCR test as soon as possible and follow extra precautions such as wearing a face covering in enclosed spaces and limiting contact with others. If they test positive for Covid-19 themselves, they will have to self-isolate for 10 days.
Close contacts who have not been double jabbed will need to continue to self-isolate for 10 days following contact with a positive case.
