The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs has launched consultations on its new Fishery Management Plans (FMPs).
The first six consultations can now be viewed on the Defra website, with a full list of proposed FMPs and their planned publication dates also available.
Live consultations are on the proposed FMPs for Bass, Channel demersal non-quota species, Crab and lobster, King scallop, Southern North Sea and Eastern Channel mixed flatfish, and Whelk.
All those in the fishing industry are encouraged to take part in the consultation to have their say and provide feedback, in order to help shape the future of UK fisheries.
FMP consultations close on 1 October 2023.
