Anthony Mangnall MP has been elected as Vice-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Photonics and Quantum.
The Group provides a forum for Parliamentarians to debate and exchange knowledge with UK industry on the current and future impact of the technologies of light. From lasers to cameras and lighting, the APPG on Photonics aims to raise awareness of the critical contribution this technology is making to manufacturing productivity, delivering efficient healthcare and keeping the UK digitally connected and secure.
Photonics is a growing industry in South Devon, with the purpose-built EPIC Centre in Paignton dedicated to electronics and photonics companies.
Speaking after his election, Anthony said "I am pleased to be able to support the Photonics industry and those high-tech businesses that call South Devon home."
