This morning Anthony visited Totnes Hospital to see the recently reopened Minor Injuries Unit in action and meet with representatives of the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.
He heard more about the hospital and its successes from CEO Liz Davenport, Deputy Medical Director Dr Liz Thomas, Chairman Sir Richard Ibbotson, Lead Governor Jean Thomas and Hospital Matron Tracey Cunningham. We discussed a range of issues including NHS careers development, the cost of living, collaboration with the voluntary sector and the importance of community services.
Totnes MIU is an essential service which is now open daily from 8am to 5pm, thanks to the fantastic job done by Advanced Clinical Practice Lead Sarah James and her team to recruit the staff required.
