Totnes Hospital
Following on from my letter to Torbay and South Devon NHS Trust concerning the reopening of Totnes Minor Injuries Unit (MIU), Anthony has today received a response to our campaign.
Torbay and South Devon NHS Trust have said that the Trust ‘continues to be commissioned to deliver minor injuries services at Totnes Hospital’ and that it is their intention to re-open the service once the Covid response allows.
Anthony says "While I welcome that the Trust has received additional capital funding for urgent and emergency care services at Torbay, it is essential that we reopen Totnes MIU as soon as possible.
I will campaign to have the Totnes MIU reopened and exert what pressure I do have to see this vital service restored to those who need it."
Brixham Health and Wellbeing Hub
It is extremely welcome news that the Torbay and South Devon NHS Trust has confirmed via a letter received on the 16th November, that they are going ahead with plans for a Brixham Health and Well-being Hub that will see General Practice in Brixham delivered out of the hospital.
The Trust has confirmed that the design for the Hub has now been agreed by all parties involved and that work on the Hub should be complete by March 2021.
This is hugely positive news for the town and Anthony hopes this puts many people’s minds at ease over future GP provision in the town.
