A very productive meeting with Minister for Social Care Helen Whately MP last night where I highlighted the excellent work done by our local caring groups as well as the need for further support.
We discussed the South West and Torbay Older Adults Pilot Home Treatment scheme run by Devon Partnership NHS Trust, which has been a lifeline for many over the past few years but is sadly coming to an end next month. Having already written to the Devon Partnership NHS Trust, I will keep pushing for this vital service to continue to provide home support to older people.
I hope the Minister will be able to join a future roundtable meeting with local caring groups so she can hear directly from those who are working hard to support our communities.
