Yesterday, Anthony spoke in a Westminster Hall debate on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
As the Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on the Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative (PSVI), I am invested in this issue and in matters surrounding international development.
PSVI was founded in 2012 because it was an overlooked issue. In every conflict and crisis zone around the world, the use of rape and sexual violence was always well documented, but justice and support for survivors went largely ignored.
While there has been some progress over the past 10 years, we now need to think about what we can do next to deter perpetrators and meet the needs of survivors.
