Away from constituency-based projects, something that I am working on is the Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative.
The Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative (PSVI) aims to raise awareness of the extent of sexual violence against women, men, girls and boys in situations of armed conflict and to rally global action to end it.
PSVI was founded in 2012 by former Foreign Secretary Lord William Hague of Richmond and United Nations Special Envoy of the High Commissioner for Refugees, Angelina Jolie.
PSVI is something that I worked on prior to being elected and therefore was something that I wanted to continue during my time in Westminster.
As Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on PSVI, my aim is to bring this initiative back to the forefront of the Government’s mind and for the UK to continue to be a leading force in this area.
